Description
You help lead a team of cross-functional partners and external vendors to meet program objectives focusing on mechanical engineering design, development planning and validation cycles of new iPhones. Your ability to deep dive into material fundamentals, creatively solve challenging logistics and technical problems, and collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams are key to delivering the best material solutions and products to customers.
Responsibilities
Drive the strategic execution iPhone Product Design, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and objectivesChampion the project's design goals, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the program and holding teams accountable for achieving themLead the creation and adherence of project schedules, ensuring key decision milestones are met across all phases and holding teams accountableManage budgets, track spending, and ensure financial prudence; proactively identifying appropriate scope drivers and their cost implicationsFacilitate clear and consistent communication and alignment between internal teams (Product Design, System EE & RF, Manufacturing) and external partners, ensuring everyone is working towards the same goalsProvide strong leadership and support during build phases, ensuring timely delivery of components, proactive problem-solving, and definition of validation plansOversee the release process for parts and enclosures, ensuring timely and accurate releases and holding teams accountable for meeting release deadlinesMinimum Qualifications
Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skillsFlexible and calm in the face of ambiguityAbility to filter and distill relevant information for the right audienceDemonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilitiesAbility to lead multi-functional communication between project teams and external vendorsDrive day-to-day activities to meet overall project objectivesCreate and manage project schedulesProvide timely issue resolution and critical path managementBS Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalentDeep experience in NPI project management and mechanical engineeringAbility to travel/work internationally 25% of yearPreferred Qualifications
Experience collaborating with and facilitating communication across Design, Engineering, Operations teams and OEM partners to meet very aggressive schedule and quality goalsAbility to independently drive projects through rapid development cycles and deliver a productDetailed knowledge of product development processes and strong understanding of manufacturing processesUnderstand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision makingProvide project status across a wide spectrum of contributors to executive managementCompensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $141,800–$258,600 (varies by skills, qualifications, experience, and location). Includes medical/dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounted products, free services, educational reimbursement, stock programs, and potential bonuses or relocation assistance.
