Job description
The Problem
Hospitals continue managing critical operations—staffing, labor planning, capacity—using paper, spreadsheets, and guesswork, wasting thousands of hours and millions yearly. Vitalize replaces this with intelligent, automated staffing operations, providing real-time decision support to clinical leaders, eliminating manual work, reducing labor spend, and unlocking patient capacity.
The Role
As second product designer, you'll join the founding designer to scale design, build, and ship processes:
1. Own complex product surfaces designing data-dense interfaces (shift schedules, staffing dashboards, configuration tools, recommendation systems), simplifying workflows and flattening learning curves.
2. Build the design system alongside the founding designer, closing gaps between component libraries and Tailwind codebase while establishing standards and patterns.
3. Work directly with customers through field research, observing actual workflows in hospitals.
4. Partner closely with engineering, collaborating through builds and caring about production quality.
