About Retell AI

Retell AI (YC W24) is reimagining the call center with cutting-edge voice AI. Since launching 18 months ago, thousands of companies now use Retell's AI voice agents to handle sales, support, and logistics calls that once required large teams of human agents. Backed by Y Combinator, Alt Capital, and other leading investors, we've scaled to $36M ARR with a team of 20 people, up from $5M at the start of 2025.

Our vision for 2026 is to build a modern CX platform where entire contact centers are powered by AI. Instead of basic automation that needs constant human tuning, we're creating intelligent AI "workers" that can act as frontline agents, QA analysts, and managers, continuously executing, monitoring, and improving customer interactions.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who combines deep UX thinking with strong UI taste. Portfolio is a must. We want to see how you reason through problems, structure complex flows, and arrive at clear, polished solutions.

Retell is building infrastructure and tools that power real-time AI voice agents used by fast-growing companies. Design quality matters here. Every interaction happens in real time, under pressure, with real users. You'll own end-to-end product design across core user workflows, working directly with founders, engineers, and customers to shape features from first principles, not just polish UI after decisions are made.

This is a high-ownership role with real influence over product direction, UX quality, and design standards.

What You'll Do

  • Own the product experience end-to-end, from early concepts and PRDs to polished, shipped features used by real customers in high-stakes, real-time scenarios
  • Shape how users interact with AI voice agents, turning complex technical workflows into clear, intuitive, and human experiences
  • Work directly with engineers and founders to define, refine, and ship features, ensuring design intent and quality carry through to production
  • Be the voice of the user: conduct customer interviews, gather feedback, and translate real pain points into thoughtful design solutions
  • Proactively raise the UX bar by identifying friction, inconsistencies, and opportunities across the product
  • Build and evolve Retell's design system, setting standards for consistency, scalability, and craftsmanship as the product and team grow
  • Influence product direction through design, contributing strong opinions, clear rationale, and taste-driven decisions

    • What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer working on shipped products
  • Deep UX skills: information architecture, interaction design, user flows, complex workflow simplification, and user research
  • Strong visual/UI sensibility with clear attention to hierarchy, clarity, and polish
  • A strong portfolio that shows your design process and thinking, not just final pixels
  • Detail-oriented and care deeply about consistency and craft
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with ambiguity
  • Enjoy owning problems end-to-end rather than working within a narrow design scope
  • Bonus: experience designing for developer tools, APIs, dashboards, or real-time systems
