Product Designer, Monetization Platform at OpenAI

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid — 3 days/week in office)

Salary: $207,000 – $295,000 + equity

Type: Full-time

About the Team

The Monetization team develops user-first, privacy-preserving monetization products including next-generation advertising experiences. Operating in a greenfield environment, the team emphasizes responsible AI product design that maintains user trust.

    • Responsibilities

  • Build next-generation advertising tools for AI environments
  • Design advertiser-facing tools embodying privacy and trust principles
  • Develop user controls for ad personalization and opt-out flows
  • Partner across product, engineering, research, and policy teams
  • Navigate tradeoffs between business needs and platform health
  • Contribute to design culture emphasizing clarity, restraint, and responsibility

    • Qualifications

  • 5+ years designing digital products
  • Ads, monetization, or platform experience preferred
  • Design systems and complex interaction pattern familiarity
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience
  • Figma and modern design workflow proficiency
