Executive Creative Director

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; or Remote within United States

About Mercury

In 1954, architect Eero Saarinen designed a radically modern bank branch for Irwin Union in Columbus, Indiana. Mercury believes design-forward thinking in banking has been lost and aims to restore it through technically excellent products and a distinctive brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Mercury's brand creative vision across all customer touchpoints outside the product
  • Set strategy and vision for how we can establish Mercury as the new standard for design
  • Oversee creative work spanning digital ads, video, editorial content, website, events, and physical products
  • Lead a creative team of 16+ professionals and manage external agencies
  • Collaborate with product design and executive leadership on brand cohesion

    • Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in creative leadership roles, with both in-house and agency experience
  • Experience building brands at design-focused companies
  • Ability to articulate what distinguishes good work from excellent work
  • Leadership capability to translate strategy into creative direction
  • Comfort operating across strategic vision and tactical execution

    • Compensation

    Base Salary Ranges:

  • Major metros (NYC, LA, Seattle, SF Bay Area): $263,800 - $346,300
  • Other US locations: $237,400 - $311,650

    • Package includes equity and benefits, adjusted based on experience and location.
