Meta Reality Labs is shaping the future of technology. As an Industrial Design Architect, you will use hands-on Mechanical Engineering skills to create delightful, holistically considered products.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Industrial Design team to develop technical solutions from high-level prototypes to detailed functional designs
  • Drive rapid concept exploration, iterative prototyping, and mechanical implementation
  • Push state of the art of physical technology integration and manufacturing processes
  • Create and refine effective ways to address complex ergonomic challenges
  • Partner with Product Design Engineering and internal teams
  • Leverage external partners for novel component designs and manufacturing solutions
  • Travel internationally to support manufacturing builds

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years developing high-volume consumer electronics or wearable tech
  • Expertise in creating high-fidelity mockups, mechanisms, and rapid prototypes
  • Experience designing plastic and metal parts for high volume manufacturing
  • Expertise in 3D CAD modeling (NX, Creo, or Solidworks) including complex surfacing
  • 7+ years product design and development of handheld/wearable electronics
  • Experience with DFM, DFA, statistical tolerance analysis, geometric tolerancing
  • Experience leading technical projects
